History

Alaska GlacierGoldbelt Wolf was formed in 2007. Since then, we have evolved into a dynamic company with experience in Human Resources support services, studies and analysis, management consulting, and procurement support. A part of the Goldbelt, Inc. family of companies, we were established to support our Alaska Native shareholders.

Incorporated in the early 1970s, Goldbelt Inc. was founded as an urban Alaska Native Corporation (ANC) under the 1971 Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA), which is the largest single federal land settlement of Native American claims. Under the ANCSA, each corporation distributed 100 shares of stock as a birthright to its shareholders, and any Alaska Native born on or before December 18, 1971 was eligible to enroll in an ANC. Goldbelt’s shareholders include members of the Tlingit and Haida tribes, and our shareholders view their stock as a legacy beyond value, and an inheritance meant to be passed on to future generations.

For years, Goldbelt Inc., which was named after a richly-mineralized zone in Southeast Alaska, harvested timber from lands received in the ANCSA and eventually expanded into tourism activities around Juneau. In 2000, Goldbelt Inc. began forming subsidiaries to do business with the federal government. Goldbelt Wolf continues to satisfy the needs and wants of our shareholders, customers, and employees.
